Adam Peppercorn Pinsley was born in New York City in 1970. With a preternatural gift for colors and textures, Adam began designing comic strips and murals at the age of 5. Influenced by his mother Penny, a gallery artist herself, Adam became a fixture at the Leo Castelli Gallery and Sydney Janis Gallery, where he was enamored and transfixed by the harmonization of medium that he observed in these artists works. A harmonization that gave an animated vibrancy to these still-life portraits.

As a child growing up in East Hampton, Adam began experimenting in various mediums and often found himself directing his attention to mainstream entertainment and sports related subjects. In 1994, Adam burst onto the Atlanta art scene with his first commissioned work for the "Bjorn Borg/Jimmy Connors Heroes of the Game Rematch”. That same year, Adam was named the official artist for the Atlanta Thunder of professional World Team Tennis, where he was commissioned to design "one of a kind" paintings for legends like Andre Agassi, Bjorn Borg, The Jensen Brothers and Olympic Volleyball Gold Medalist, Karch Kiraly.

A commission to design the label for the Chateau Elan Winery's Vintage 1995 Nuveau led to his first solo exhibition. Over the next 4 years, Adam's catalogue of signed portraits has grown to include over 50 entertainers, athletes and public personalities, including, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Pink, Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas, Elton John, Jewel, Herschel Walker, Mark Messier, Walter Payton, Dan Marino, Jeff Gordon, Lenny Wilkens and Doug Flutie.

Inspired by some of his favorite artists Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Patrick Nagel, Pinsley's pop surreal vision, which balances detail, ambiguity, figurativeness, and abstraction, is quickly earning him the respect of art collectors nationwide. His use of white outlines to offset bold but strategically placed strokes of bright-unexpected colors captures and adds to the energy and movement of his subjects.

Pinsley celebrates contemporary experience and revels in popular imagery, as reflected in the vibrant and exuberant images he has created for celebrities, entertainers, professional athletes, private collectors and companies worldwide. Notable collectors include Delta Air Lines, Song Airlines, The Major League Baseball All-Star Game, The Atlanta Sports Council, a number of Division I Universities, and entertainers like John Popper (Blues Traveler), Fergie (Black Eyed Peas), Britney Spears and renowned fashion designer, Richard Tyler.

Pinsley also takes time to give back to the community through his art by teaming up with athletes, entertainers, and organizations to facilitate the efforts of many world-renowned foundations such as the American Heart Association, The Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, The Elton John AIDS Foundation, Make-a-Wish Foundation, United Way, The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism and The Giving Back Fund.
